Parboiled rice vs regular rice
When rice is harvested, the inedible husk is removed. At that point it’s whole grain rice. If the bran layer is also removed then it is white rice.
Parboiled rice is prepared before the first husk is removed. This rice goes well with many dishes because it offers a more subtle taste than white rice, but also retains more of the original vitamins and minerals. And all without the nutty taste of whole grain brown rice. While brown rice has a chewier texture, parboiled rice is buttery soft.
