What is mascarpone?
Mascarpone is a type of cheese. It is first discovered around the year 1600 in the Lombardy region near Milan. The product is a type of cream and is created by skimming fresh milk. It is a fresh cheese which means that it does not need to mature and can be kept for several weeks.

This is how you make tiramisu
Start making the coffee. The stronger you can brew the coffee, the better. When the coffee is ready, throw in the 2 tablespoons of rum. If you prefer to make an alcohol-free version, you can simply omit this. Let it cool completely while you make the rest of the recipe.
Remove the whites from the 4 eggs and beat with a stand mixer until fluffy.
Take a separate bowl and throw in the 4 egg yolks with the sugar. Mix all this for about 4 minutes. Then add the fresh mascarpone. After the 4 minutes, the egg whites can be added. Blend it all until smooth and creamy.
Now let’s get started with the lady fingers. Dip the lady fingers in the coffee. Do this quickly because the lady finger should not absorb too much coffee. This makes the tiramisu too moist. The lady fingers are now allowed 1 by 1 in a bowl.
Toss over the mascarpone. Keep repeating this so that you make different layers, just like a lasagna. After this you can sprinkle the cocoa powder all over.
Let the bowl rest in the fridge for at least 3 hours. For perfect results, you can even make it the day before. Enjoy your dinner!
