Buffalo Mozzarella is an extremely fresh cheese. Because we drive up and down to Italy at the Dutch cheese house with our own truck, we can switch very quickly, the fresher the better. It is therefore best to eat this cheese as soon as possible. This product is therefore certified with the DOP quality mark , so you can be sure that it is an authentic Italian cheese that is made according to a traditional recipe.
This buffalo mozzarella weighs 250 grams and tastes very creamy, juicy, light, airy and a little bit sour. The cheese also melts very well . That is why it is often used on a pizza .
If you ask us, it is best to eat the buffalo mozzarella on its own. This cheese is so good that it doesn’t need any other ingredients. You can throw a good olive oil , salt or oregano over it, but this is actually not necessary at all.
We send this cheese cooled to you with our own refrigerated truck. This way you can be sure that you can enjoy top quality cheese. We recommend taking the cheese out of the fridge half an hour before eating. The taste is best when the cheese is at room temperature.
Drain before making pizza
If you use buffalo mozzarella to make a real Italian pizza , we recommend letting the balls drain for a while. You do this by picking the balls apart half an hour before baking the pizza and placing all the pieces in a colander. Due to the beautiful structure of the cheese, you will see that it is very easy to “pluck” nice pieces by hand . Let the pieces drain in the sink, 15 minutes is enough.
This way you prevent too much moisture from getting on the pizza when you bake it. This is especially crucial if you bake at a high temperature.
Try buffalo mozzarella of 250 grams
Cheese made from buffalo milk is hard to find, because cheese made from cow’s milk is cheaper and easier to produce. If you want really good buffalo cheese then you have to be in Italy. But these products can only be kept for a few weeks. This is also the reason that few supermarkets sell buffalo cheese of this quality.
Because we buy in bulk, we always have fresh stock. When it is very busy, it sometimes runs out, but because our truck arrives in the Netherlands every other day, it is always in stock the next day.
