Lactose-free cheese
What is lactose intolerance?
We have a lot of lactose-free cheese. A lactose intolerance does not have to mean that you can no longer eat cheese.
We therefore have this handy section where you can certainly shop lactose-free cheeses together
Lactose is a sugar found in milk products. Lactose is broken down in the body by lactase. Lactase production decreases gradually in most people as they age. But it can also be completely absent from birth.
This can cause unpleasant symptoms when eating lactose . How much lactose you can eat varies from person to person. Roughly speaking, we can say that with hard cheeses (from matured) the cheese is as good as lactose free ( less than 0.1 gram per 100 gram ). This is because during the ripening process the lactose is converted into lactic acid.
The products below therefore naturally contain less than 0.1 grams of lactose per 100 grams and fall under the category of lactose-free cheese. They can therefore in most cases be consumed by people with a lactose intolerance. That’s handy! All lactose-free cheese in one place.
More information about lactose-free cheese can be found in our blog!
The Dutch cheese house, the place for lactose-free cheese
We believe that everything about our cheese should be clear and well-arranged. That is why we have a clear list of ingredients and possible allergens and intolerances for every product
With each cheese you can therefore easily see whether they are lactose-free.
After you have selected the tastiest lactose-free cheese, we cut and package the cheese. Then it will be refrigerated in the post so that you can enjoy it at home without worries!
